Until now, Monitored Dosage Systems have only been capable of handling basic administration of solid oral medicines. Biodose, the world's first Total Medication Management System (TOMM), allows for the first time ever, the ability to dispense and monitor liquid and solid oral medications together.
Care HomesIn the care home environment Biodose Total Medication Management (ToMM) system helps improve drug administration management, helping care homes deliver higher standards of care, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Biodose is the new replacement for predated MDS, with a number of new important advances. The Biodose system provides a single system for administering solid oral tablets and capsules, together with liquid medications, making Biodose the first system capable of delivering a complete solution to drug administration within the care home environment.
Biodose is also capable of providing Patient Information Sheets and MARS charts, giving you the ability to make the process administration of administration much easier.
For the first time ever care homes can introduce Biodose to improve drug administration and further benefit from Biodose's built in BioCote protection, helping to prevent MRSA. Benefits of Biodose in Care Homes - The world's first Total Medication Management System (ToMM)

Using Biodose in the Care Home EnvironmentBuilt in BioCote protection helps to prevent MRSA Biodose is available direct from Pharmacy100 and is delivered in convenient Patient Packs containing a tray with 28 individual tamper-evident medicine pods. Every pod is pre-sealed into the tray and can be easily removed from the tray without affecting the individual tamper-evident pod seal.
The tray contains patient information, including the option of an individual photograph, plus drug detail information and the name of the dispensing pharmacy. Each individual pod contains detailed information including patient name, date, time of day and individual drug details.
The tamper evident seals used on each pod ensure that the medication is kept securely within the pod and ensures that liquids do not leak, even if the pod or tray is accidentally turned upside-down during transit or administration.
Once the tamper-evident seal has been peeled back, it will not stick down again, ensuring that the drugs contained are the same as what the Pharmacist intended. Therefore you can be sure that at the point of administration, the right drugs are being administered. This provides extra security and accountability needed in the care home setting.
Because Biodose includes trays with the facility to include patient pictures, temporary staff will be confident in knowing that the right patient receives the right drugs. And, right from the moment that the pod seal is peeled back, drugs can be administered directly from the pod, making liquid administration very easy and removing the need for medicine cups.
The incorporation of BioCote into Biodose system provides built-in protection against MRSA, making Biodose the ultimate system for drug administration management for care homes. Domiciliary Care Lack of patient compliance in the community is a major contributor to hospital admission. The Biodose Total Medication Management (ToMM) system provides the ideal solution for monitoring administration and compliance in the community setting. Biodose provides major benefits and technological advantages over traditional Monitored Dosage Systems (MDS) in a number of key areas.
Biodose is the first system able to handle solid oral tablets and capsules, together with liquid medications. In the domiciliary care setting this presents a number of new opportunities and additional safeguards, especially where a number of different carers are involved with treating patients with learning difficulties, arthritis, dysphasia, dementia or complicating disabilities.
The ability to administer monitored doses of liquid medications in the domiciliary care setting assists with patient compliance and accountability. The Biodose system sealed Trays containpatient and drug identification information and because each Pod with the Tray can be individually removed, they are labelled with patient name, date, time of day and individual drug details of pharmaceutical preparations contained within each Pod. The Biodose Trolley The individual medicine Pods contain a tamper-evident liquid-tight seal providing security for the patient and ensuring that liquid dosages remain intact and unadulterated prior to opening. The medicine Pods designed in such as way to be ergonomic, with easy-remove seals and are intended to be used instead of medicine cups or spoons, making the whole process quick, clean and simple.
Furthermore, because the Biodose system contains BioCote protection, this helps prevent MRSA, important in treating patients at risk of infection. Pharmacists can supply MARS charts and Patient Information Sheets where necessary, to further assist in helping carers provide a higher standard of medication management in domiciliary care.
